One of the cheapest and easiest ways to add a touch of class to your backyard landscaping is to put an arch in your garden.

Most often used in small gardens to frame a view along a path or to mark the threshold between one area and another.

You can buy arches in all shapes and sizes. You can find them at your local hardware store or even your local nursery.

If you however want to create your own arch, it's really very simple. A basic arch consists only of three trellises, two for the side, one for the top. You could use almost any material from bamboo to plumping pipe. Make sure however to make the roof at least 7 feet off the ground.

A quick tip for people who want to create an archway but don't know what to put on it, or in it. Place your arch against a hedge or wall then cover the frame with vining plants, then move a bench inside the arch. Now you have a nice peaceful area to sit.
