Curb Appeal Tips
Curb appeal is becoming quite a buzz word in the
real estate and landscaping market. Basically what curb appeal is, is the
first impression someone gets of your house from seeing in on the street.
Curb appeal is what makes people take a glance at your house and then
want to stop and look at your house again. It's the X-factor in real estate
terms.
So how can you give your home great "curb appeal?" Here are a few tips
that will get you on your way to improving your homes curb appeal almost
instantly.
Keep your yard clean.
We all know the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover". Well that
doesn't apply here. The first thing people do is judge your house by the way
it looks on the outside and if your yard is full of clutter and debris and
is generally messy, this is the impression of your house you are going to
give.
What you can do is simple. Remove all the mess, cut the lawn every week
or every two weeks, trim the hedges often, water your garden, get rid of all
your weeds around the edge of your garden and the curb. Keep your walkway
and drive way in good condition.
Give your yard some color.
Adding some color to your yard will make it stand out. No, I don't mean
putting large unsightly statues, gnomes or monuments in your yard. Just
simple things like flowers.
If you live in the south, make sure you get flowers
that actually flower
most of the year.
Make your yard look bigger then it is.
Size is a big factor in what people think of a yard. Even if your yard
is small, you can still make it look bigger then what it really is by
keeping it simple. Get rid of big cluttery plants and overgrown shrubs. Make
your yard look clean and crisp.

Plan before you dig a water garden. Before you even start to think of digging to put in a water garden, make sure you plan everything in advance. Dimensions, the type of water garden you want to have, how deep it will need to be and if you need any permits to do so. If in doubt, call a professional out to help you. That's why they are there.
